The whole HotDogs universe lives inside DogOS — a Windows-95-style desktop where every part of the project is a window: 1/1 auctions, a live market, raffles, games, a gallery, holder maps and upgradable traits. It's running below — go poke at it without leaving this page.

HotDogs launched on Abstract — the Ethereum L2 built by Igloo Inc, the team behind Pudgy Penguins, and backed by investors including EVG and Fenbushi Capital. It grew out of the earliest days of the chain: its Early SBT was one of Abstract's first testnet NFTs and was minted more than 48 million times.

It became one of the rare original-IP collections the Abstract team officially got behind — a pixel-art dog universe with its own voice, humour and world.

In the run-up, Web3 OGs and collectors — Cozomo de' Medici, Des Lucrece and others — took notice.

The pre-sale ran on Magic Eden with helio.pay. Of 3,333 HotDogs, the launch landed on Abstract mainnet's very first day — and HotDogs became the first Magic Eden collection on Abstract to sell out, day one.

HotDogs collaborated with and was featured by names across Web3 and beyond — each one a big deal in its own right. With Brave it ran a New Tab Takeover that put the dogs in front of millions of browser tabs. The OKX Wallet campaign became one of its most-attended events. Alphabot — one of the most-used launch dApps in Web3 — ran Boost seasons with HotDogs, and Megaphone's tools reviewed 50,000+ applications.

And HotDogs holders won free tickets to NFT Paris 2025 — then actually flew in and met up there.

HotDogs got officially verified on GIPHY, Tenor and Klipy, where its GIFs and animated reels racked up hundreds of millions of views — 200M+ on GIPHY alone, plus 15M+ on Klipy. It even made it off-screen, painted onto walls as graffiti.

The dogs didn't stay on-chain. Street artist RobRunner took HotDogs to the street — spray-painting a full pixel-dog mural on a wall, in real life.

Everything was drawn and art-directed in-house: the characters and traits, the brand and logo, the DogOS portal, the Badges, Voxels and Upgradable Traits, the mascot and the motion. The special 1/1s took the pixel world somewhere stranger.

When Abstract wound down, HotDogs migrated the whole universe to Ethereum mainnet — a clean snapshot, a new contract, a binding window and a rolling claim — without losing the community it had built. The portal also spun off HotDog Rise, a retro climbing game of its own.
