An editorial illustration of water as a toothy blue creature, for a BÜMED article on what hides in tap water.

Tap water is the subject of "En kötü ne olabilir?" (What's the worst that could happen?), an article in a publication of BÜMED, the Boğaziçi University Alumni Association. It opens with the thought that it's only water, then lists what can turn up: chlorine, pesticides, arsenic, lead, algae, medicines and more. For my editorial illustration, I drew the water itself as a creature. Layered blue shapes build its body, with an open mouth lined with teeth, curling tendrils and loose splashes around it. The headline sits above it in blue script. The illustration takes the right-hand page, opposite the two-column article.

Headline detail: bold italic serif "En kötü ne olabilir?" with a small BÜMED alumni association publication label to its left.
